The concept of leadership has been quite visible in the organisations and society.  There are various leadership style which is adopted as per the situation. The different style of leadership has different behaviour to handle the situations. Autocratic leadership, transformational leadership, transactional leadership, democratic leadership, Strategic leadership and many others are the different types of leadership. The leader has to perform their function with the different style (Fairhurst, and Connaughton, 2014).

In the organisation, leadership is plays the important role to manage the employees in order to achieve the objective. In the society, leadership plays the role in maintaining the peaceful environment for surviving the people. There are different roles of a leader in the organisation as well as in society and these are given below:

In organisation, a leader is a person who has the responsibility to improve the performance of the employees. In the society, it has been seen that the leader is person who has the responsibility to develop the positive environment so that the people live free without any fear. Leader has the ability to use their intelligence, maturity and experience to develop the positive environment and get the good result. It is an advantage for the organisation because it gets the good output by improving the performance of employees. It is also beneficial for the society to maintain the environment because the people can freely survive without any worries (Havermans, Den Hartog, Keegan,  and Uhl?Bien, 2015).

Leader need to be straight forwards and concise in order to implement a plan in the workplace and environment. The leader has the responsibility to motivate the employees by setting their target in order to achieve the objective. It is main role of leader in the society as well as in organisation. The leader has to guide the employees to perform the work so that the employees can easily achieve the objective of the company. In the society, it has been seen that the leader has to guide the people in order to reduce the conflict between the different backgrounds of people. The leader has to guide the people so that they can take the initial steps towards the society. It is beneficial for the society if the each and every person contribute their efforts (Mangundjaya, Utoyo, and Wulandari, 2015).

Steve Jobs is a good example of an effective leader. He was the most inspiring individual who works for the organisation and motivates the employees to learn the new things. As the CEO of Apple, he manages all the responsibilities and encourages the employees to perform well (Beheshti, 2018). 

Role of a Leader

It is also an essential role plays by the leader to analyse the challenges and current situation. In the organisation, leader has to analyse the current situation of the company and issues which is face by the employees. It is necessary to analyse the issues which is face by the employees to improve their performance. After analysing the situation, the leader can reduce the issue which is face by the employees. It is an advantage for the organisation because by improving the performance of employees it will earn high revenue. Nowadays, it has been seen that there are many issues which affects the lifestyle of the people such as corruption, conflict due to diversity, poverty and many others. It is the responsibility of the leader to analyse the reasons behind these issues and maintain the positive environment by reducing these issues. It is necessary to reduce these issues by analysing the environment and reasons behind them. It is beneficial for the society as well because by reducing these issues the people will stay happy and healthy in the positive environment (Tannenbaum, and Schmidt, 2017).

Leader has the role of reducing the conflict between the employees in the organisation and the people in the society. Nowadays, people comes from different background to stay in a same city due to which the conflict is arises. In the organisation, employees are also come from the different environment to perform the functions due to different culture and tradition the conflict has been arises. Leader plays the main role in reducing the conflict between the people by incurred team spirit (Holten, and Brenner, 2015).  

Nelson Mandela is the correct example of an effective leader. Mandela sets the exact example of dedication, courage and sacrifice for the world. Mandela fought for the South Africans to develop the peaceful environment. It states that he played the role of an effective leader (Brand South Africa, 2015).

According to the Puranik (2017), the leader has to play the many roles in order to improve the performance of a leader or to maintain the positive environment. The leader has to understand the strategy and implement it in the organisation to achieve the objective. The leader develops the strategic plans by keeping in mind the strength and weakness of the environment. According to the Khator, A. (2012) the leader plays the role as a motivator, supporter, and facilitators in order to achieve the objective. According to the Simiyu, (2015) the leader has an ability to protect the company benefits by realising the needs and targets of the employees. Organisational leadership plays the central role in evaluating the environment of the organisation. Leadership plays the role in developing the vision by helping to directing and inspiring the actions.

Conclusion

From the above analysis, it has been concluded that the leader plays the different role in the organisation and the society. Leader plays the different role such as maintaining the positive environment so that the people live free. In the organisation, the leader has the responsibility to guide the employees in achieving the objective of the company. In this report, structuralisation, analysing and socialistic support are discussed. Different authors have different point of view about the roles of leadership but the main roles are motivation, evaluation and many others. Leader plays the major role in the organisation and the society in order to get the positive result.
