This report includes the reflection on my placement as a Sales executive in Dominos within the internship program, and also the critical evaluation of the mission, vision, and value standards of the organization. In terms of preparing this report, I worked on my routine activities during the period of my internship, and also focus on identifying the required skills and abilities in context of performing all those activities. Further, I state the relation and impact of the dominos mission, vision, and value statement of the organization with my performance. In other words, how mission, vision, and values affects my performance in the organization.

In context of defining some background, mission statement of the organization directly reflects the main aim for which organization exists and in which direction efforts of the organization must be made. Vision statement of the organization supports the mission and refers the business goals through which main aim of the organization can be achieved. A value of the organization reflects the manner in which operations of the organization must be conducted and which provides the guidance to perform the actions of the organization. It can be said that, mission, vision, and value standards of the organization are related with each other and gives the foundation on which actions of the organization and its people based.

This section of the report is divided into two parts, first part defines the reflection on workplace practices and second part defines the mission, vision, and value statement of the organization.

At the time of my internship training as a sales executive of the Dominos in Australia, I indulged in number of activities such as interactions with the clients, offering advice to the clients, and introducing new products and services to the clients. In other words, I am responsible to ensure smooth transactions with the customers. My responsibilities as a sales executive also includes the work related to administration such as data entry, updates, response to customer e-mails, etc. However, my time duration of working was very short (3 weeks), and during this time period I have to report my manager on daily basis.

While reflecting on my working environment and organization, I find that Dominos is one of the biggest food chain operates in Australia and it reflects the outstanding growth in the current business environment. There are number of factors which work in the favor of the organization such as vibrant operations and flexibility to adopt the changes. Working environment of the organization is also sound and motivated, and this mainly happens because of the effective leadership skills of the manager of the organization. Team work of the organization is efficient in nature and clearly supports the main objectives of the organization. While working in the team, I feel that there is clear sense of trust and reasonability, and each and every team members supports the other team member in fulfilling the task. All these factors of the organization and its working environment majorly support in my good performance, and also help me in adjusting in this new environment for completing my internship training. Further, I analyze the decision making quality of my manager who is responsible to lead the team of almost 20 employees (including me) (LeRoux and Wright, 2010.). I find that decision making skill of my manager is very effective in nature, and he also holds the capability to influence others in working towards the goal of the organization and personal goals. After considering the above facts, it can be said that Dominos is the organization which reflects ethics and beliefs in terms of its actions, and at the similar time it reflects the best strategic practices in terms of achieving the growth and success.

Reflection

While reflecting my working capabilities and personality traits in context of sales executive, I find that I need to enhance my knowledge related to the products and services offered by Dominos to its customers. Number of situations occurred when I am not aware about the products, services, and programs offered by the organization for the benefit of its customers. Further, I require improving my communication skills also in terms of dealing with the customers in effective manner and ensuring smooth transaction with the customer.

By using the marketing management approach, I need to work on the team working skills and also needs to monitor my performance in terms of dealing with the barriers which affects my performance in negative manner (Chernev,2018). 

Mission statement is the most important statement, which mainly reflects the aims and objectives of the organization (Cameron, Zimmet, Shaw and Alberti, 2009). It is necessary that, mission statement of the organization must be clear, concise, and reflects the business strategy of the organization in effective manner (Stallworth Williams, 2008.). Mission statement of Dominos states “Sell More Pizza, Have More Fun”, as it clearly reflects the business strategy of the organization (Dominos, 2018). This statement reflects the long-term strategy of the organization in terms of ensuring the growth and success. This statement reflects two dimensions that are customer satisfaction and profitability.

Vision statement is considered as a declaration of the objective and goals of the organization, and it also guides the way through which goals of the organization are achieved. It must be noted that, Vision statement of the organization must relate with the mission of the organization (Kirkpatrick, Wofford, and Baum, 2002). Vision statement of Dominos states “Leading the Internet of Food, In Every Neighborhood”, as this statement directly relates with the mission statement of the organization and work as guidance in terms of meeting the main objectives of the organization (Dominos, 2018). In other words, it is the map which reflects the objectives of the organization.

Value statements are defined as the core beliefs of the organization and it present the guide on the basis of which actions of the organization are conducted. In other words, it defines the ethics and beliefs on the basis of which activities of the organization are conducted by its employees and management. Value Statement of the Dominos also reflects the ethical policies in different contexts such as customer service, employee benefit, etc.

Mission, vision, and value statement of the Dominos directly relates with my working activities and in some manner it contributes in my skills and capabilities also. As the sales executive of the organization, I tried my level best to direct my each and every action in achieving the vision of the organization. Value statement defined by the Dominos help me in shaping my personal beliefs and also encourages me to take ethical actions while achieving the objectives of organization and also my personal objectives. These value statements not only consider the benefit of organization and customers, but also recognize the advantages of employees in the organization.

Conclusion:

In context of concluding this report, it is clear that self-reflection in terms of sales-executive of the Dominos highlight number of areas on which I need to focus. I find that, I need to enhance my knowledge related to the products and services offered by Dominos to its customers. Further, I require improving my communication skills also in terms of dealing with the customers in effective manner and ensuring smooth transaction with the customer.

On the other hand, vision, mission, and value statement of the organization creates the foundation for the management and employees in terms of achieving the objectives and goals of the organization. Further, all three things relates with my working activities also and in some manner it contributes in my skills and capabilities also. Value statement defined by the Dominos help me in shaping my personal beliefs and also encourages me to take ethical actions while achieving the objectives of organization and also my personal objectives.

After considering the above self-reflection and identifying the weakness related to working capabilities, following recommendations are stated below in terms of enhancing the skills and capabilities-

Communication training program- Communication skills play very important role in any job profile, and it is necessary for the candidate to join any training program which offers the communication training. In other words, any program where, communication training is given to the candidate must be joined by the organization.

Attention to details- The most important area on which I need to work is the learning skills, as i fail to give attention to all the details explained by my manager and this creates confusion at later stage and also result in miss of the deadlines.
