Implementation Of SAP S/4HANA For SAP Business All-in-one – Project Charter
Purpose of the project charter
Project name: Implementation of SAP S/4HANA for SAP Business All-in-one
The main aim of the charter is to provide the preliminary delineation of the roles and the responsibilities of the project team along with the objectives of the project. The charter aims in evaluating the objectives of the project, project requirements and deliverables of the project. The charter will provide an idea of the schedule and the major project deliverables along with an approach to system development. Thus this project charter will act as a key reference to the project manager and the project team while implementing the project.
With an aim of eliminating the operational weakness of Yes Chemist, which is a group of independent Pharmacies operating in major cities of Australia, a project has been proposed to implement SAP S/4 HANA. In order to implement the project a contract has been given to Victoria University Information Systems Consulting (VUISC).
The objective of the project is to replace the existing legacy accounting system to implement the SAP S/4 HANA. The scope of the SAP implementation project involves installation and delivery of a proper hardware, software and complete configuring of the SAP system including the testing, and provisioning the end user training. The contract for the entire work has been provided to VUISC. The project further involves migration of data nfrom the existing system to SAP All-in –one module that is to be implemented.
The project is essential as with the increase in the size of the business it was becoming difficult for the organisation to maintain and manage their complex business processes. With the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, all the business operations can be streamlined and can be easily maintained. The entire project is divided into a number of phases such as requirement phase, integration, acceptance and sign off phase, testing phase, data conversion phase, Documentation and training. The expected start date of the project is 25th July 2017.
The functional requirements of the project are to be identified in order to design the new system. In order to successfully implement a project, it is essential to refurbish the components of the operational head office. The requirement of the project further incorporates purchase of hardware, conversion of the existing data to migrate to the new system and testing the new system. After the implementation of the new system, it is the responsibility of the contractor to provide training to the staffs.
The major deliverables of the project along with the key milestone of the project are as follows-

The project is a complex project and therefore the entire project is divided into a number of controllable phases. Each phase has a number of tasks, successful completion of which will ensure the successful delivery of the project. The details about the major project phases, milestone and tasks are represented in the following table.
