The job requires an early childhood pre-school teacher for the childcare centre that in Gumnut Cottage. Since the job demands a caring, cheerful and motivated individual to join the pre-school team, I feel that I will be able to bring in my unique personality to the job. I have always been a sociable person. I am fond of taking care of children. Earlier I have taught in Montessori and engaged as a private tutor for small children. During my course as a Montessori teacher, I was entrusted with the responsibility of designing the curriculum. Whilst designing the course curriculum, I kept in mind that the module should address the growth of children and therefore have modules that encourage children to learn through play. I have done my Bachelor of Education and have 6 years of teaching experience for pre-primary children. As the job demands a number of qualities like being efficient in Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management, have the ability to respond to abuse and address issues pertaining to the Education and Care (RAN), I feel my additional qualification in Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management course from Australia Wide First Aid has equipped to deal with patients who suffers from chronic asthma. Through this course I have learnt about the symptoms and triggers associated with asthma and the high-quality First Aid Asthma. I also possess the necessary rigour to review the philosophy that involves the interests of all the stakeholders. In my earlier experience, I have worked with the administration, and therefore, I know how to coordinate with different people and management group. I would be required to manage with the Director, parents, children, centre and staff. The job requires me to work in partnership with families from the diverse social and cultural backgrounds in seeking innovative means to deliver and share effective learning programmes. In my experience, I had to interact with the family of a black boy who was subjected to bullying in the classroom buy his white peers. As a teacher I developed a curriculum that promoted pluralism and ethnic equality in the classroom. This was done through eliminating the cultural stereotypes that are documented in the textbooks. I further encouraged students from different communities to share their experiences of bullying to spread awareness about the veracity of the incidents.

Organisation, Location- I have worked with Morris’s Montessori where I worked closely with the administration. This institution is located in the southern part of Queensland. I worked a curriculum developer and in-house education consultant. During my course with this organization, I was entrusted with the responsibility of enhancing the communication between the administrative body, teachers and the parent community. During my tenure, I learnt to deal with the different challenges that emerge in the execution of administrative duties. I also learnt to work under pressure specially during the time of admission and the discussion of children’s problems with the teachers. In this case, I had the opportunity to work with the staff and facilitate their professional development.
I also had the experience of working with working with Morris’s Montessori for a period of two years. Here I was entrusted with the responsibility to teach pre-primary schoolchildren and in designing the curriculum. Whilst designing the curriculum, I kept in mind that the modules are inclusive and I intend to work in a pre-primary school that would have an amiable work environment and foster my growth in my professional career. I feel my ability to communicate with everyone without any inhibitions and my cheerful personality will be in consonance with the temperament of the job. Strength of mine that I feel would be helpful for the company is that my ability to review the philosophy of the child-care centre that would be helpful for the organization. My past experience have taught me coordination with different stakeholders in the organization, therefore, I would be able to communicate between the staff and the parents of the children.
My experience of teaching in Montessori has enabled me to deal with children. Through my interaction with children, I have learnt that children love to be in an environment where they can play and learn and also learn through creative modes. My teaching philosophy has emerged through my interaction with the children. I have understood that there is an imperative to incorporate creative teaching methodologies with the aim to ensure holistic development of children. I believe children should not be overburdened with tasks in their childhood. They should have the time to realize their full potential. I also believe that teachers and children should collaborate together in the production of knowledge.

I have the experience of working in a project with a group of 40 children who belonged to diverse backgrounds. Some of these children belonged to the ethnic minorities, were disabled and some of them were black. This project was aimed in fostering the values of inclusiveness and diversity. I have been a part of the family welfare programme pioneered by the government of Australia where I was entrusted with the responsibility of dealing with families who are survivors of domestic abuse and the teaching community to foster better communication.
For the above-mentioned project I have won a gold medal for being successful in the implementation of the values of diversity and pluralism. I have also secured first position in my class X examination and once again secured first position in my class XII examination. During my B.Ed course I have with flying colors securing a first division with distinction.
I have the had the experience of working as a coordinator for a reputed children’s NGO in Queensland. My main responsibilities were designing the curriculum, grooming the children and counseling them to share their experiences of trauma. I have also volunteered with the family welfare programme pioneered by the government of Australia where my responsibility was to facilitate communication between parents of children who have faced incidents of domestic violence and the teaching community. This was done with the objective of identifying the limitations that impede the growth of children.
- As per the selection criteria of the job, I have the sound ability of understanding the philosophy of the childcare centre and working with different stakeholders. In my earlier experiences, I have had the opportunity to coordinate with the management and the teaching community and bridge the gap that emerges during the course of interaction. I have always believed in the pay and the creative mode of teaching. This I feel is in consonance with the principle of the organization. When I was the project coordinator and was entrusted with the responsibility of dealing with children, I had used the technique of play and cooperation to bridge the barriers between children from different communities and facilitate a more coherent communication. My string personality coupled with my optimistic and industrious approach towards life makes a perfect fit for the position of leading a pathbreaking educational program.
- The second selection criteria regarding the demonstration of capacity to take on new learning, I feel is suitable in my case. I have been inspired by the Emmilio Recci teaching model and always open to encouraging children to realize their full potential. I believe in the holistic development of children. I feel in my new role I would be able to come up with innovative teaching techniques that would enhance eth interest of children towards their subjects and veer them towards the classroom. I also believe that teaching and learning should not be confined within the four walls of the classroom and the children should be able to discover themselves. I have had the opportunity of understanding the barriers in communication emerge in the context of communication between people from different communities. Therefore, I believe in challenging the cultural stereotypes and encourage children to participate more with each other in the everyday activities. I firmly believe in the collaborative approach to teaching and learning where teachers and students are equal partners in education.
