Developing an Operational Plan
The operational plan of the organization has a great role in the achievement of the different kind of objectives of the organization. The management of Glen Cameron Group has been prepared its operational plan based on the demands and needs of the clients. The demands and needs in this particular case are totally based on the customers. The operational plan of the particular business is prepared to arrange for a smooth transportation and the storage of goods in the different kinds of warehouses maintained by the company. The operational plan also includes the likes of the buying and maintenance of new trucks, warehouses and other storage facilities that can be used for the creation of new supply chains and logistic facilities.
The legislative procedures and policies play a major role in the operational plans and procedures of the business. The legislative context of the business is generally prepared by the government and the other institutions in charge of maintain the legal procedures in the business. The legislative processes thus have a major say in the development of the plans (Benitez et al. 2018). The management of Glen Cameron group must have the idea of all the legal regulations in place for dealing with any such regulations and also to avoid any problems in the future. Some of the legal contexts include the presence of the Australian business permit, Supply chain permit, driver permits, Australian highway permits and many more as such. The aim of the company is to avoid any kind of legal hurdles that can have a serious impact on the sustainability of the company. Being a logistic company the management has to take care of all the different business permits and the business cleareances to ensure smooth operations.
The business consultant manager of Cameron Group is in charge of the business process consulting in the Organization. The main aim of the business process is to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the logistics business in Australia. The following aims to operate the business process according to the demands of the customers and update and innovate the business process by means of applying new and advanced technologies. The consultative process also provides a report at the end of the work which helps to improve and change the faults committed earlier and provide a much more suitable business.
The selected business unit is Australia based Logistics group named Glen Cameroon group. The company is one of the largest and established logistics and Transport Company of Australia and has been in the market since a long time (Thomas and Silva 2016). The purpose of the company is to provide logistics and transportation aid to the different clients. Apart from providing some usual logistics tasks, the company also engages itself in providing 3rd party logistics, interstate transportation and warehouse facilities to different people and organizations in the island continent of Australia. The plan of the business unit is to provide the most comprehensive and efficient logistic and freight movement facilities to the clients for both inbound and outbound shipping. As part of the evaluation services the company examines the current transportation process, services and the work system. The following system includes;
- All the different transportation process and structures
- Use the current technology, data quality and the organizational goals and objectives
- Access transportation planning including buying trucks, allotting the trucks and order the management process
- Reviewing of the current system and the process by which the goods are delivered
Consultation Processes for Operational Planning
The new operational plan will be effective from the beginning of the next financial year which will be from April to the end of the financial year on March. The plan will be implemented by the management of the business in different types of phases which starts from the first month and ends in the last month. This will help the organization to make the most of the market trends currently operating in the organization (Brinckman and Kim 2015). The plan has been taken from the operational plan of Woolworths Company which is the largest supermarket of Australia (Benitez et al. 2018). The involvement of the name “Woolworths” is enough for the organization to select this particular strategy.
The mission of the following organization is to provide a superior range of personalized service which is generally selected from that of a highly motivated team of skilled personnel who are dedicated to achieve the mutual growth and expansion along with a commitment to provide a proper satisfaction to the customers of the business, supplier and staffs. Apart from this the organization also aims to create a friendly internal as well as external partnership which will help in providing the opportunities for continuous personal advancement, satisfaction as well as security.
The vision of the following organization will be to achieve the highest level of growth by displaying the willingness and helping out the customers in every possible way. This helps the organization to face and solve all the different challenges and make the most of the business. The company also engages itself in technological advances to stay updated with the latest models in the business (Jensen et al.2018).
The management of the company has set a number of different strategic goals which will help them to be one of the largest truck transport and warehouse companies currently operating in Australia. The company aims to achieve the following feat by means of implementing latest technologies, buying new trucks, developing new and innovative ways to stay sustainable in the market and many more as such (Hale 2016).

The management of Cameron Group must usher in new innovations to start new works that can be helpful for the organization in the future. Some of the major works that have been planned by the management of the company includes;
Building quality – The goal of Cameron group is to produce and deliver value through a well defined and quality service. The management of the company has already in place a large contact list of freighters in shipping, rail and air transport. it is important to work with a network of warehouses for the clients who requires warehousing services.
Key Performance Indicators in Operational Planning
Organization of Contacts- The organization of different contacts is the key to the success of the logistics company. The management of Cameron group must ensure that they have a faster response rate to reach out their customers quickly. The company uses different kinds of software programs to locate the opportunities in freight, organize and arrange different kinds of the email contacts to save time on the operations of the logistics (refer to the appendix).
Customer Service Goals- The more happy customers, the better is the revenue for the organization. In selected cases the customers tend to pay a much high rate because they generally put their faith in the service and communicate as well as work on the behalf of the entire team.
Building contracts- The contracts of the critical aspect of the logistic operations. Standardizing the contracts, securing the deals and protection of the legality is one of the main strategies that are adopted by the management of Glen Cameron to make the most of the business.

The critical ongoing work in the business is the implementation of new technologies in the organization and the training of the drivers of the new trucks that have been purchased by the company. The major resources needed for the completion of the work will include financial aid, training expertise as well as effective leadership. Some of the main plans that are undergoing are;
- Pickup and delivery vans within the medium range trucks category
- Phone support to different customers
- Buying new store houses at Belmont and New South Wales
- Installing and implementing the new logistics software to track the goods efficiently
