Draft Project Proposal Submission
Project title
Provide range of services to individuals with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour through house arrangements to live a normal life.
Introduction – Research Aims and objectives
People with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour are ignored by the government and also various NGOs due to lack of support from the individuals and also their family members. This research will try to understand the challenges that one would face to provide house arrangements and also ensure that people with learning difficulties and challenges live a normal life. The objectives of the project are as follows: –
- Understand the current legislation that supports people with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour
- Various arrangement to make them feel comfortable and confident
- Challenges in providing house arrangements.
- Understand the sources that would provide financial and volunteer support
- The benefits of providing house arrangement to people with learning difficulties and people with challenging behaviour (Wooliscroft 2014)
Preliminary literature review
Various sources would be referred to ensure that all the required information is put in the business report. Few of the sources that would help to find complete data about the topic are as follows: –
- UK government publications to understand the various initiatives and challenges that the government is facing, to make home arrangements for people with learning difficulty and challenging behaviour.
- Reports to understand the point of view and thoughts of other researchers.
- Newspaper to understand the various activities that have been undertaken by governments and various NGOs
- Journals to understand and explore the best practices that have been implemented in countries, other than UK.
- Books to give a better understanding of the best possible solutions to overcome the challenges (Salazar 2015).
Research methods
It is very important for the business to choose appropriate research methods to ensure that the research is complete. To make the project successful, the researcher would undertake the below research methodologies: –
- Secondary research – Secondary research would be based on data readily available. The researcher will go through the readily available data and pick whatever is required. To complete secondary research, the researcher will go through various UK based government publications, reports, newspapers, journals and books.
- Primary research – For primary research, the research would prepare a questionnaire and meet up with people who work in or own similar NGOs. With the help of questionnaire method, the researcher will try to understand the best practices and also the results that the yield. The researcher will also talk to them and understand the failure that they have undergone in the past. This data would be collated to reach a conclusion. Primary research will be considered to be complete only when the researcher meets up with people who hold similar experience (Habib 2017).
Risks and limitations
None of the research methodologies can be considered to be complete. Few of the various risks and limitations that the researcher would face while collecting primary and secondary data are as follows: –
- Confidentiality of data would be maintained by all the sources and this is one of the huge challenges that the researcher would have to face. There would be plenty of confidential and this would not be shared by anybody. These confidential data will not be able in government publications, journals, newspapers, books or any other secondary source. Similarly, if the confidentiality of data needs to be maintained then that would be disclosed by the interviewee as well and hence, getting access to important and confidential data would be little difficult (Lovegrove 2015).
- For primary research, meeting people to discuss the questionnaire would be difficult as people may not have time to share their thoughts and opinion for a research project and hence, getting an appointment may seem to be difficult.
- In primary research, the accuracy of data cannot be rectified. Few of the NGO works may say things for the sake of saying and this may really not be true and the interviewer won’t have any tool to verify the data shared (Bryant 2015).
How project would be completed on time?
The project can be completed on time with the help of a proper time-table in place. The time table plan is as follows: –
- The project would start with secondary research. This would be done for a period of 10 days.
- On completion of secondary research, questionnaire preparation would be done. This would be done in 3 days
- After questionnaire preparation, appointment with NGO workers and owners would be fixed. 15 days time would be assigned for this.
- Finally, 15 days would be provided for data collation and analysis (Guercini 2014).
Conclusion
All the possible data would be collected to ensure that the best possible project is created. The results would be purely dependent on the primary and secondary research. The success of this project would help the researcher to understand the topic better.
