Project Charter: Scope Overview

The report is associated with the description of a project that involves the setting up of a café at the car wash. The report consists of the discussions about the project charter. The main element of the business would be discussed in the report. The milestones and the success criteria for the projects are also discussed here.  The risks, assumptions and constraints, resources and the stakeholders and the lessons learned from the project are also included in the report.

The scope of this project is to accommodate a café in the car wash. The project would be able to provide the clients who come to the car wash an efficient scope of spending quality time in the café. This would increase the satisfaction of the customers towards the car wash company. However, the organization would be making sure that the customers would only be allowed to avail the services of the café only when they are availing the car wash services. The main point of focus for the organization would be the car wash services and not the café. Hence the project would be secondary focus and making the project a primary focus is out of scope.

• Training of the staffs
• Immediate expansion of the business

The Supercar Car Wash Facility is looking to implement a café in their car wash facility. The clients if the organization would be able to spend valuable time in the café while they would be required to wait for their car wash services to be completed (Kloppenborg 2015, p.87-88). This would provide the organization to avail some extra financial benefits and also increase the chances of improving the customer satisfaction towards the organization.

This section is used for the discussions of the estimated schedule of the project. The table provide below would be helpful in providing an efficient insight to the progress of the project and also help in keeping track of the status of the project (Kloppenborg 2015, p.87-88).

The major risks involved with the project are to be identified in this section of the report and the other risks such as the risks that are involved with the cost and time of the projects (Kloppenborg 2015, p.94-95). There are other aspects of the projects as well such as the usefulness of the project deliverables. The risks identified in the systems are described in the table provided below:

In spite of identification of a number of risk further risks have also been identified for the project which is to be constructed for the development of the café in the car wash facility. The project team and the project manager would be equally responsible for the mitigation of the risks which are identified for the system.

• Placement of the required instruments in the area
• Missing out on the requirements of the project.

The resource section is concerned with the estimated value of the project budget and time line. Also the requirements of the human resources and supplies can be considered in this section (Kloppenborg 2015, p.97). The total cost required for acquiring the products and the equipment required for the project and total area required for the implementation of project are also to be taken into account in this section of the report. The section is involved with the discussions regarding the principles that are used during the project. The principles are responsible for the establishment of the factors on how the meetings for the project would be conducted and the process of treating other team members with respect (Kloppenborg 2015, p.97-98). The list of principles which are to be followed for the project are described below:

Efficient Communication Plan: The project team are required to develop an excellent project communication plan so that there is honesty in the perspective of each and every person.

Maintaining Project Schedule: The people should be able to maintain the schedule of the schedule of the project and complete the assigned tasks within the said time. This would make sure that no lag in the procedures of the project take place and the predecessors would also not suffer from scope creep.

Respect among the team members: The project team should be having a level of respect among each other and they should be able to treat each other with respect. The respect should be flowing from top to bottom level and vice versa. This can also improve the communication among the team members to a great extent.

Scope for learning and Improvements: The project should also provide a scope of learning and upgrading the project. The project team members should be able to learn from the project and also from the mistakes that were committed during the project so that this type of faults can be avoided in the future and the members would be gaining experience in the project management concepts and share their experience with their juniors in the future.  

Any type of successful project always possesses the features of having people who participate in the project who are skilful and have strengths in various type of fields. Hence, it is required that the project team consists of people who would able to work forward with the team in order to achieve the required outcomes from the projects (Kloppenborg 2015, p.98). The lessons learned from this project that would be passed on to the future projects are identified and listed below:
