Enterprise Architecture is the plan that defies the management and happening of the different operations in the organizations. The main objective of the enterprise architecture is to find out the ways through which the organization can utilize all the resources available and achieve the desired goals and objective of the organization[1]. The main objective of this paper is to discuss about the application of the enterprise architecture for Phoenix Logistics. The company is based in Melbourne and it is a freight forwarding company. Recently, the organization has appointed a consulting group for the implementation of the enterprise architecture in this organization. The main objective of this paper is to discuss about the various aspects of enterprise architecture and its significance in the organization.

Phoenix Logistics is a freight forwarding company and it has different branches all over the world. It is important for the organization to propose an IT solution for managing the business among all the branches over the world [4]. The absence of proper enterprise management architecture will lead to the mismanagement of the operations for all over the branches of the Phoenix Logistics. Another issue Phoenix Logistics facing is regarding the security issues in the system of online recruitment.

The analysis of the identified issues will help to identify the significance of the enterprise architecture in the organization. In order to this different aspects of the enterprise architecture are needed to be discussed.

Enterprise Architecture principals define the workings of the organization for achieving the goals of the company. There are several principals regarding this context. The strategy consists of the following factors-

Enhancement of the business:  One of the main principal of the enterprise architecture is to enhance the current business process. In order to do this certain modification and improvisation of the Phoenix logistics are needed to be done [3]. In order to do this proper implementation of the information technology is needed to be done based on the requirement.

Analysis:The analysis of the issues which are becoming challenging for the organization  are needed to be evaluated [2]. The factors or reasons behind these issues are needed to be analyzed for the mitigation of the constraints for the proper development of the business for the organization.

Design: The designing of the proper enterprise architecture plan is needed to be evaluated for the proper implementation of the information technology for Phoenix Logistics.

Development: The execution of the design planned in the design phase is needed to be developed in a proper way so that the outcome of the implementation can deliver the right outcome along with meeting all the requirements of the organization.

Deployment: The deployment principal of the enterprise architecture isconcerned about the application of the proposed changes in the organizational process

There are various enterprise architecture framework available for the better implementation of the enterprise architecture in the organization [6].  The selection of the framework is dependent on the type of the organization. In case of industrial automation system ISO 15704:2000 is applicable whereas for the guidance of the social responsibility Federal enterprise architecture is applicable.

Enterprise Architecture Principals

Phoenix Logistics is a freight forwarding company. The organization can be considered as industry which is involved in the supply chain and logistics management.  In this case the industry automation is needed to be implemented [5]. In this context, the automation in the supply chain management process is needed to  be implemented. The enterprise architecture management is needed to be implemented in order to make the automation  and use of information technology in the supply chain management.

Enterprise architecture reference model is a reference that can be used in the enterprise architecture. There are different layers and entities in the enterprise architecture reference model. There are various enterprise architecture reference model is available, however, the selection of the reference model is applicable on the basis of the functionality of the organization [8]. The main advantage of the enterprise architecture model is that this reference model can be reused in the development of the enterprise architecture management.

Significant improvisation can be made in the different department of the organization  by the implementation of the enterprise architecture.  The functionality of the different departments can be synchronized  and can be managed well with the help of the enterprise architecture. Phoenix Logistics is a freight forwarding company which deals with delivering and moving the package. In this situation the happening of the functionality of the system is needed to implement the automation in the logistic system. The whole process will increase the flexibility and accountability of the system. However, the  implementationof the enterprise architecture in the organization needs proper planning and budget.

The  attribute of the reference  model is that the reference model can be reused for the development of the enterprise architecture. The reuse of the reference model in Phoenix Logistics can done through the identification of the common features.  The identification  of the common features of this logistics company and the reference model  are identified. After the identification of the similar features of this logistics company and the reference model partial implementation  of the enterprise architecture is done in the organization.  In the logistic company mentioned in the discussion the chosen framework is needed to be compatible  with the selected enterprise architecture model.

Phoenix logistic can use the reference model for the development of the business process. In this case the reference model named Federal Enterprise architecture can be used. This will include the automation of the logistic system of the organization. As the organization is associated with the freight forwarding business the automation in the logistic process is needed to be done. Apart from that FEA also recommends the reuse of the existing components in the organization [7]. In this case the reuse of the existing systems of the different department can be reused after the modification and improvisation. The service domain includes customer service, business automation, business management service of the Phoenix Logistics.

The implementation of the proposed solution will have the positive impact on the system of the Phoenix Logistics. This organization can use the enterprise architecture in a certain way. The reuse of the improvised system will help the organization to get the improvised solution along with the mitigation of the overhead cost.  Apart from that the automation in the delivery and the process of the supply chain will help the organization to achieve more productivity in small time span. This will increase the efficiency and the profit of the organization. All these things an be achieved through the implementation of the federal Enterprise Architecture.

The discussion is regarding the use of the enterprise architecture in the Phoenix Logistics and the significance of the application of the enterprise architecture. It has been found out the use of this architecture will help the organization in different ways. Apart from that the usage of the reference model has been discussed in this context. The recommendation of the enterprise architecture model suitable for the organization has done. It can be concluded from the discussion that the enterprise architecture will play a significant role in the improvisation of the business of Phoenix Logistics.
