How do you solve a percent change equation?
You have to use this formula:
%change = ((new amount – original amount) / original amount) x 100
For example, if you originally had an investment of $300 and 5 years later you had $326.25 in your account and you want to see the percent change, you’d use the formula above
% change=((326.25-300)/300) x 100
% change=(26.25/300) x 100
% change=.0875 x 100
% change= 8.75
Therefore, the change in percent is 8.75%
